The Taj Mahal is considered one of the most romantic monuments in the world. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan after the death of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this white marble mausoleum is considered a monument to eternal love. Tourists are now permitted to view the Taj Mahal by moonlight.

Tourists can view the Taj Mahal from a distance of 500 m, from a nearby red sandstone platform. Tourists are permitted to carry still cameras for photography and binoculars for viewing. Night viewing of Taj Mahal has been allowed from 2004 for five nights in a month including the Full Moon night and two days before and two days after except Fridays and month of Ramzan. Tickets available 24 hours 1 day before Night Viewing of the Taj Mahal 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
